Near the top of 1,800 foot Howell Mountain, in one of the most acclaimed winegrowing and producing districts in North America, Angwin rests on a plateau amidst towering trees and oak-studded ridges. It is by far the most bucolic community in the Napa Valley. Its just over 3,000 residents, represented to the Napa Board of Supervisors by its Angwin Community Council, enjoy year-round hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, or just walking their dog down a country lane. The town is literally surrounded by premium wineries and vineyards and is home to Pacific Union College, a 4-year Seventh-day Adventist liberal arts institution that has been named among the top 10 colleges in the U.S.
